At Texas School for Deaf the student who aspires to be a professional competitor or performer and s/he who simply enjoys simply participating both receive appropriate support. Children at Texas School for Deaf take part in sport for enjoyment, relaxation and exercise, as an aid to their educational development and the formation of their sense of self-worth.
Coaching is available six days a week from faculty who are outstanding practitioners of their own disciplines. In competition we model ourselves on those outstanding sporting stars who are also ladies and gentlemen. Everybody who represents Texas School for Deaf is seen as an ambassador for the school.
The little rock nine has always believed in the potential of the Youth, and hence has been making conscious efforts to steer them into accruing of holistic personality traits.

The student centered curriculum at teams is made of four components - Academics, Arts, Music and Sports. The curriculum is designed to give different outcomes at different levels as the student progresses from preschool to high school. The curriculum focuses on cognitive and motor skills in the preschool, concepts in the primary school and practical approach in middle school.
At the high school level, the focus of the curriculum is to prepare students for college. The six Teams values - Teamwork, Respect, Responsibility, Ethics, Etiquette and Service are integrated into the curriculum as well as the instructional programs.
Life long learning is the corner stone of all the academic planning and activities at School. Teaching, learning and assessment are all intertwined and focus on learning in various settings, in and outside the classrooms.
