The Community Arts Center and Interfaith Climate Change Work Group have joined together to present a free monthly environmental film series.
The purpose of the series is to bring to a wide range of films that look not just at environmental science but also explore our artistic and spiritual connections with the natural world.
The series will include an eclectic mix of American and international, shorts and feature length, live action and animated productions.
The goal of the series is to amuse, educate and inspire people to explore their own relationship with and ideas about the earth.
As varied as the forms of interpretation can be, however, the motivations behind creating a work of art are even more diverse.
While some argue that an fine artist’s work is simply a reflection of that particular fine artist’s social, economic, and political circumstances, still others contend that it is the creative imagination of the artist that is the main impetus behind his/her expression.
As consumers of fine artist’s creations, members of the society are granted the power – by the artists – to relate and respond to works of art in whichever way they can derive fulfillment. It is this power of art that captures, stimulates, and represents the creative imagination of an entire populace.
Fine Artist is a powerful promotional tool for artists and art galleries due to it's extensive integration of geo-location technology. Fine Art is currently adding approximately 15 new Fine Artist per day and is on it's way to becoming the premier online destination for artists, galleries, and collectors around the world. The restoration of this building not only preserves an historical landmark, but also provides and the surrounding area a theater, ballroom, meeting and classroom facilities as well as studios for area Fine Artist.
Community Arts Center group was formed in 1998. Community need for an arts facility had long been identified, and Miami University was about to dispose of the large, historic building that was once Oxford College for Women. A group of 12 formed a steering committee to save the building as a center for the arts in our area.  The group was incorporated in 2001. The Mission of the Community Arts Center is to restore and maintain historic Oxford College as a permanent home for the arts in the Oxford area, to facilitate activities of community arts organizations, and to promote the arts and arts education.
The Community Arts Center is a not-for-profit organization representing performing and visual community arts groups who wish to rehearse, perform, display and teach their various art and craft forms in a facility that represents a permanent home for the community arts.
