High School alternate system allows students (with parental permission) to have mobile phones. These are kept by House parents and are used by students on Sunday afternoons.
Here again, the school ensures by limiting credit and checking usage that students are not abusing this privilege. Parents can visit High School and meet their children at any time with the prior permission of the Principal. Students may also apply to the Principal for a Weekend Leave to go home. This leave is granted once every term.
Parents are asked to give to High School a set sum of money, imprest deposit, for pocket money. This money is used by students to pay for treks and for the purchase of personal items and tuck. Our Tuck Shop is open for half an hour daily and students can visit it twice a week to purchase items. The Tuck Shop stocks snacks and other foods alongside basic toiletries such as soap, toothpaste and shampoo.

One of the first Cherokee Indian School for Native Americans was not created by the federal government, but was founded in 1851 by the Cherokee National Council of Oklahoma. Students at the Cherokee Female Seminary took courses in Latin, French, trigonometry, political economy, and literary criticism, a curriculum that precluded any discussion of Cherokee culture or language. Pupils staged dramatic productions, held music recitals and published their own newsletter. Cherokee Indian School their graduation rate proved almost non-existent, and color and class hierarchies existed with lighter-peers referring to themselves as "progressive" Cherokees.
Cherokee Indian School Responding to tribal criticisms that the seminary students were ill prepared to take their places as farmers’ wives, the curriculum shifted by 1905 to include classes in "domestic science" with cooking and cleaning predominately featured.
