The Boarding High School materials have proved to be invaluable in providing concrete materials to gain abstract knowledge of concepts. Children in our Kindergarten have shown an immense interest in learning when using these materials.
In English, the Pink, Blue and Green Scheme are used to strengthen reading skills and understanding of letter sounds. Senior Kindergarten children after just four months of working with the pink and blue scheme started to spell words unaided amazingly well.
Developing mathematical skills could not have been more fun when we have materials such as the Pink Tower, Knobbed Cylinders, Spindle box, Golden Beads etc. Children are also taught to add, subtract and multiply numbers through play using these materials.
AT Boarding High School, we adopted Marie Montessori's philosophy which recognizes the uniqueness of each child. We provide an age appropriate environment filled with opportunities to explore.
